Information you send us
When you email us, your email address, message and attachments are available to the team and the email providers involved in delivering and storing the message. We use correspondence to respond to questions and investigate corrections. Please include only the information needed for your request; do not send account passwords, Social Security numbers or financial account details.
Website hosting and statistics
Dollar Beacon uses WordPress.com and Jetpack services provided by Automattic. These services process technical and usage information, such as IP addresses, browser and device details, referring pages and pages viewed, to operate the site, protect it and provide statistics. Cookies and similar technologies may support these functions. See Automattic’s notice for visitors to its users’ sites for the provider’s processing, sharing and retention practices.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage and improve content and navigation. Analytics can record page views and interactions, together with browser, device and approximate location information. Google’s processing is described in its Privacy Policy.
Calculators and interactive features
Our investment tools use the numbers you enter to calculate illustrative results. Use estimates rather than information that identifies you or an account. Website analytics and hosting services also apply when you visit a calculator page.
If you respond to a Crowdsignal poll offered on the site, Automattic processes the response and associated technical information. If you use an available comment feature, the information you submit may be displayed publicly, and Akismet may process it for spam detection. Review the fields and any notice shown beside a feature before submitting information.
Cookies and external websites
You can use your browser settings to block or remove cookies. Doing so may affect some site features. Links to sources and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices; this notice does not describe their handling of information.
Retention and privacy requests
Email correspondence and attachments remain in the email services used to handle them. To ask about information you have sent us, or to request access or deletion, email hello@dollarbeacon.com and identify the relevant message without including unnecessary sensitive details. We will review your request against the records available to us and any applicable obligations.
Hosting and analytics providers control retention within their own services, as described in their notices. A request to the Dollar Beacon team does not itself delete information held independently by another provider.
Changes to this notice
We will update the effective date when this notice changes, including when changes to site features affect the information described here.
